OPS Bargaining Survey

Watch For OPS Bargaining Survey

Members in the OPS bargaining unit will be receiving an e-mail this week with a link to the 2011 bargaining survey. The current AMAPCEO Collective Agreement with our OPS Employer expires on March 31, 2012, and we want to know the views of represented employees well before negotiations begin.

The on-line survey will take about 20 minutes to complete.  If you are interrupted or want to take more time, you are able to save the survey and return to it later to finish and submit it.

Our last survey was conducted in early 2009, just prior to the last round of bargaining.  The response rate for our on-line surveys has been extremely high, reflecting an engaged and knowledgeable membership.  As in the past, please use as much space as you need to offer detailed comments and suggestions, as well as alternative priorities if you feel the questions do not quite address your circumstances.  We actually read all of the comments.

AMAPCEO's success and effectiveness as a bargaining agent relies on the participation of its members in setting bargaining priorities. We are a member-driven organization, run by members, accountable to members and serving the interests of members. Although the final collective agreement is obviously subject to negotiations with the Employer, AMAPCEO priorities going into bargaining are determined by the views of its members as reflected, in large part, through this survey, supplemented by membership meetings, individual communications and input from your elected representatives. Even if you have not yet signed up as a member, we hope you will participate in the survey and give us your views, since the provisions of the collective agreement apply to everyone in the bargaining unit - both members and non-members.

As we review your responses and get closer to bargaining, we may need to send a follow-up survey with a few more additional questions in order to clarify or refine some views.

If you do not receive the survey this week, please get in touch with Jennifer Sherwood, Labour Relations Officer, at the AMAPCEO office (sherwood@amapceo.on.ca).
