AMAPCEO Named a Top GTA Employer for Sixth Straight Year

Wednesday, November 16, 2011

AMAPCEO has been named as one of the Greater Toronto Area’s Top Employers for 2012, it was announced today in The Globe and Mail.

This is the sixth year in a row that AMAPCEO has been named to the GTA Top Employer list, following an annual competition conducted by Mediacorp Canada, Inc.

AMAPCEO President Gary Gannage used the opportunity of the GTA award announcement to extend congratulations to the Ontario Public Service, which employs most of AMAPCEO’s members, for also being selected as a top 2012 employer.  He noted that “it is the combination of contributions from employees, their bargaining agents and their managers that help make a top employer”.  About 70 per cent of AMAPCEO’s 12,000 members work in the Greater Toronto Area, which is where AMAPCEO’s office and staff are located.

The Globe and Mail
is featuring the 2012 Top GTA Employers in a special supplement to the November 16th, 2011 edition, including a profile on AMAPCEO office staff who have benefited from progressive maternity and parental leave provisions (provisions that AMAPCEO has also negotiated for its OPS members across Ontario).  More information on the Top Employer awards can be found at globeandmail.com.
